Two local swim teams will be sending a swimmer to the 2nd Annual CIF Swimming Championships next weekend.

The Liberty High boys team and the Frontier High girls swim team finished 5th and 6th in their divisions, respectively, at the CIF Central Section D1 Championships at Clovis West High School on Saturday.

Both teams were the highest finishers from Kern County.

Liberty's Michael Hart placed second in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke events, while Frontier's Kassidy Lemminn finished second in the 200-yardfreestyle.

Because of their second place finishes, Hart and Lemminn will head to Clovis to participate in the CIF Championships on May 20-21.

They'll be Kern County's only D1 swimmers at the event, and both raced at last years state event.
