BAKERSFIELD, Ca. — More than 15 local boys basketball teams hit the courts Wednesday to open up Central Section playoffs.

The winners will advance to play on Friday in the quarterfinals.

Division 1:

No. 6 Bakersfield beats No. 11 Central, 69-52

No. 7 St. Joseph beats No. 10 Liberty, 79-77

Division 2:

No. 5 Porterville beat No. 12 Redwood, 61-52

No. 4 Independence beat No. 13 Nipomo, 70-60

No. 6 Hanford West beat No. 11 Monache, 62-61

Division 3:

No. 1 Mt. Whitney beat No. 16 Shafter, 60-49

No. 8 Chavez beat No. 9 Tehachapi, 70-63

No. 5 Garces beat No. 12 Templeton, 66-29

No. 4 Dinuba beat No. 13 East Bakersfield, 63-46

No. 6 North beat No. 11 Morro Bay, 70-55

No. 2 Immanuel beat No. 15 West, 79-75

Division 4:

No. 8 Madera South beat No. 9 McFarland, 61-55
