BAKERSFIELD, Ca. — Love and basketball. That's what took place on Thursday night as our local girl's basketball teams played in the Central Section Quarterfinals in and around the county.

For all the teams who advanced, they play in the semifinals next Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Division 2:

No. 1 Bakersfield beats No. 9 Liberty, 52-39

No. 4 Tehachapi beats No. 5 Redwood, 58-49

No. 3 Garces beats No. 11 Mission Oak, 69-32

No. 2 Yosemite beats No. 7 Shafter, 70-17

Division 3:

No. 1 Selma beats No. 8 Frontier, 83-58

No. 2 Fresno beats No. 10 Chavez, 69-26

Division 4:

No. 4 Porterville beats No. 5 BCHS, 66-60

No. 2 McFarland beats No. 10 Strathmore, 83-57

Division 5:

No. 1 Caruthers beats No. 9 Rosamond, 63-25
