NBA commissioner Adam Silver and the league office informed Board of Governors that July 31 is the target date for their season to return, according to The Athletic.

It's still unclear as to whether or not the season will be conducted inside the confines of the ESPN Wide World Sports Complex at Orlando's Walt Disney World. This is the first time a legitimate date has been set by the league office for an official return.

This news comes after the NHL released their plan for a 24-team playoff format. Their format did not have a set target date.
