BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Tuesday, the Patriots posted to its website that it had released Kern County native and quarterback Cody Kessler.

The Centennial High Alumni Cody Kessler joined the New England Patriots' 53-man roster last month.

Kessler played at Centennial High before playing college football at University of Southern California.
