BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Soccer season is back and the Rebel Winter Classic saw plenty of action from Kern County Schools.

At the Mira Monte host site, Garces defeated both the Lions and Mojave High School for a perfect 2-0 start to the tournament.

Mira Monte tied their second game with the Arvin Bears after a couple of great penalty kicks. The BCHS Eagles dropped their first game 3-1 to the Bishop Union Broncos.

Foothill, who made a deep-run into the playoffs last season, cruised past Frontier 3-0.

The tournament continues on Saturday at Mira Monte and Golden Valley High Schools.
