It's been a warm, humid summer for most of the Midwest, and the monsoon in the Desert Southwest has been a healthy one with a fair amount of rain over the last few months.

That warm, humid air led to flooding in Milwaukee where cars trying to get through flooded roads became stranded.

It was a similar picture as remnants of Hurricane Newton moved across Arizona and New Mexico.

Some places in the Southwest received months worth of rainfall in less than a day.

July and August were both especially wet for most of the United States, and it appears that trend is creeping into the beginning of September as well.
