TEHACHAPI, Calif. — Tehachapi's biggest festival of the year is this weekend. This weekend is the 56th Annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival.

The three-day events starts Friday evening with a carnival at the corner of D and Robinson Streets, live music and dancing at the V.F.W. and PRCA Rodeo at the rodeo grounds.

The event continues through the weekend with a 5K/10K, pancake breakfast and parade Saturday morning, arts and crafts fair Saturday afternoon and rodeo Saturday evening.

The three day weekend is capped off with Thunder on the Mountain classic car show, craft fair and carnival Sunday.

The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce president, Ida Perkins, said Tehachapi Mountain Festival is a huge economic boast to Tehachapi. It is the largest fund raiser for the chamber of commerce and helps fill the local shops, restaurants and hotels.
