BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — UPDATE (6:25 AM): The California Highway Patrol's accident report indicates the driver of a car in a deadly crash on James Road in Oildale was 14-years-old.
Officials say the teen was driving a Nissan west on James Road, north of Airport Drive when a piece of construction equipment began to cross the road just west of Oil Fields Road.
The passenger side of the car hit a bucket, killing the 10-year-old and 11-year-old passengers, said officials.
The 14-year-old driver and a 9-year-old passenger had minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
UPDATE: Traffic is back open along James Road in Oildale following a crash that killed a boy and a girl.
The California Highway Patrol said a car collided with a bulldozer killing the two passengers.
The driver and another passenger in the car were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
They were also under the age of 18.
