Another hot weekend for Central California! Seeing possible record breaking temperatures in the Valley for Sunday, along with an excessive heat warning through Monday for Kern County. The record in the valley dates back to 1904, where we saw 111 degree temperatures. We are expecting a high of 110 in Bakersfield for Sunday.
With all of this extreme heat, we will also see unhealthy air quality. Tomorrow Bakersfield will be seeing an AQI of 195. An air quality alert is in effect until the wildfires are extinguished. We will continue to track this.
