The work week is off to a comfortable start, with a high of 86° in Bakersfield on Monday.
Tuesday will be just a touch warmer at 87°.
Highs jump into the lower 90s by Wednesday, and peak around 98° on Thursday.
By Thursday highs in the mid to upper 90s are expected in the KRV and desert, too, with mid to upper 80s in mountain areas.
Temperatures will begin to fall from there, and there's a good chance valley highs will be back in the 80s by the weekend.
