A high pressure system continues to build through our region into next week. This is bringing those low clouds, along with hazardous driving conditions due to fog. The National Weather Service has issued another Dense fog advisory from 10 pm on Sunday through 11 am on Monday. During this time, drivers are encouraged to keep plenty of distance between the vehicle ahead of them, use low beam lights, and pull over to a safe area if necessary.
This system will also bring us those warmer temperatures. Parts of Kern County can anticipate those mid 70's, which is considered very warm for mid January. Monday will be the coolest day of the week, before temperatures gradually climb. During this time, we can also expect Unhealthy air quality for those sensitive groups, with an AQI of 105.
Winds are expected to stay calm and conditions are projected to stay dry. We will continue to track this fog as it lingers into the week ahead.
