Smoke from wildfires in California continues to take over Kern County, causing unhealthy air quality. An air quality alert is in effect until the fires are extinguished. On Sunday we will see an AQI of 195. Also on Sunday, tropical moisture moves back into the region from Baja California. This will cause isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the higher elevations until Monday. This brings fire concerns.

By Tuesday we will see dry conditions and closer to normal temperatures. We can expect poor air quality throughout next week. We will continue to monitor smoke from the wildfires.
