Get rid of old, unused prescription medications as part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Posted

Bakersfield Police are helping people safely dispose of prescription medications with collection sites as part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

BPD along with the Drug Enforcement Administration and departments nationwide are participating in the 13th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The day is to educate the public about the potential risk for prescription medication abuse and provide a safe and responsible method of disposal.

You can drop off prescription medications at the collection site hosted by Bakersfield Police in the lobby at 1601 Truxton Avenue.

There will also be a collection site in the parking lot next to Kaiser Permanente at 3501 Stockdale Highway.

Both sites will be accepting medications from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
