KCSO: 3 people arrested in Oildale where a Butane Honey Oil lab was found

The Kern County Sheriff's Department have arrested three people after a Butane Honey Oil lab was found Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of Highland Drive in Oildale.

The arrests are as follows:

29 year old Tyler Martino was arrested for manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of marijuana for sale, and maintaining a residence for the purpose of drug sales.

32 year old David Dorsett was arrested for felony child endangerment, possession of marijuana for sale, and possession of over 28.5 grams of marijuana.

28 year old Desarae Matney was arrested for felony child endangerment, possession of marijuana for sale, and possession of over 28.5 grams of marijuana.

On November 3rd, 2016 at about 11:23 am, Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 400 block of Highland Drive in Oildale regarding a check the welfare of a juvenile report.

After deputies arrived on scene they entered a rear home on the property and discovered what they believed to be an operational, illegal drug lab. Deputies immediately cleared two homes on the property and requested narcotics investigators respond to the scene. Deputies also notified residents in the surrounding area and advised them to evacuate their homes.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team (Cal-METT) responded and assumed the investigation. Deputies located a large, sophisticated, butane honey oil lab. The lab was being used to extract pure THC from processed marijuana.

Kern County Environmental Health, along with the Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and Kern County Fire Department, responded to assist. Deputies located chemicals commonly used in the extraction process which are potentially hazardous, flammable, and explosive. Deputies also located numerous containers of honey oil finished product.

Three adults who were at the property are being detained. The investigation is ongoing. If anyone has information on this case, they are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
