Charges will not be filed against the Kern High School District Police Chief Joseph Lopeteguy by the Tulare County District Attorney’s office after allegations that he used a police database illegally, according to prosecutors.

Lopeteguy was investigated for alleged illegal use of the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) after being put on administrative leave in May.

The case was given to Tulare in September because of the Kern County District Attorney’s office’s relationships with the people involved.
