The Kern County Sheriff Coroner's Office has identified one of the two people killed in a double homicide over the weekend.
48 year-old Christopher Higginbotham was found deceased on Lily Pad Ct. in Northwest Bakersfield on April 30th.

Higgenbotham's step-son, Derek Connell, will appear in court on Tuesday.
A postmortem examination will be scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.
