BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — (UPDATE: 11:10 a.m.) A 16-year-old killed early Friday morning in a crash near Lamont has been identified as Sarai Yoc Soto.
The California Highway Patrol says she was ejected and killed.
According to the CHP, the car crashed just after 1 a.m. in the area of Buena Vista Boulevard, west of Adobe Road.
The CHP says she and another juvenile were in the car, and Soto was driving. Neither was wearing a seat belt. A boy was taken to a hospital.
The CHP says the incident is being investigated as a possible driving under the influence case.
