BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Warner Bros. has announced a new crime-thriller movie, set in Kern County and starring Denzel Washington, will be released next year, according to Deadline Hollywood.
The film "The Little Things" is reportedly set for a January 29, 2021 release. The film stars award-winning Densel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto in a story about burned-out Kern County deputy sheriff named Deke who is partnered with an LASD detective to catch a serial killer, Variety reported.
The movie is being directed by John Lee Hancock, whose work includes “The Blind Side” and Netflix’s “The Highwaymen".
This is not the first time Kern has made its mark on Hollywood. Famous titles that featured Kern County include "Holes", "The Hangover: Part 3", and "Captain Marvel" just to name a few.
Although "The Little Things" is set to take in Kern County, it is unknown if any scenes will be filmed on location here.
