TAFT, Calif. — Taft Union High School student Bryson Ginn is making the most of his senior year.

Ginn is enrolled in the school's Oil Technology Academy designed for students to explore fields focused on the petroleum industry. He decided to raise money for the Honor Flight of Kern for his senior project.

Starting in May of 2018, Ginn and his classmates held various fundraisers hoping to raise enough money to send two local veterans to our nation's capitol. All together they raised $12,947.55, enought to send nine veterans on an honor flight adventure.

It gives you a good feeling, we want to see our kids learn how to have a vision of what they want to do and develop the steps to get there.
Ted Pendergrass - Coordinator Taft Oil Technology Academy

In the end, Ginn says he couldn't of completed his senior project on his own and recognizes the sacrifice of his classmates to help him give back to our nation's finest.
