BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — In this week's Foodie Friday, 23ABC's Kallyn Hobmann teamed up with her dad, Steve Hobmann, to show us some of their favorite holiday drinks.

Cranberry Whiskey Sours
Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup whiskey

Combine two cups of fresh cranberries, two cups of fresh water and two cups of sugar in a medium saucepan. Add two cinnamon sticks and bring that to a boil.

Reduce to a simmer for about ten minutes and wait for the cranberries to open. Then pour the cranberry mixture over a large strainer to create a syrup.

Once the syrup is cooled, combine 3/4 cups of the syrup with 1/4 cup of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of lime juice, 1/4 cup of orange juice and 3/4 cup of your favorite whiskey all in a cocktail mixer with ice.

Shake, pour into your cup, and enjoy!

Christmas Fruit Punch
Ingredients:

  • 1 orange
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Kid-friendly version: 7-Up
  • Adult version: Champagne or prosecco

First slice the orange into thin slices.

In a large bowl or pitcher, combine 1 cup of orange juice and 2 cups of cranberry juice with 2 cups of pomegranate juice. Then add your orange slices and pomegranate seeds, and mix in two teaspoons of vanilla.

Stir and serve into a glass. For the kids, you can pour in 7-Up to give it some bubbles, or for the adults, you can add some champagne or prosecco.
