BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Our local American Red Cross chapter is shifting to virtual operations effective immediately.

Officials say volunteers and help will still be available for those impacted by the "Stagecoach Fire" fire burning in Havilah, south of Lake Isabella.

There will no longer be volunteers at the old Kmart parking lot in Tehachapi, but those who are impacted and need help can call 1-800-REDCROSS. Officials said there are volunteers standing by to assist those who call in.

So far, the Red Cross is helping seven families impacted by the fire.

The blaze sparked just after 3:30 Monday afternoon in the area of Stagecoach Drive and Old Ox Road and by Tuesday evening, it had already burned more than 3,000 acres.

Those looking to help or volunteer with American Red Cross, see here.
