BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — A special virtual presentation on Black History was put together by students from the Bakersfield City School District. It's titled "African-American Youth Paving the Way."

The BCSD presentation highlights historical and local African-Americans who have demonstrated innovative ideas and had an impact on their communities and the world. Hosted by two BCSD students the virtual celebration includes the Black national anthem and a moment of cultural appreciation titled "My Black is Beautiful" all followed by local youth recognition and inspirational messages from Bakersfield natives.
