A Starbucks in Bakersfield has closed after one of it's employees was diagnosed with coronavirus. According to a Starbucks spokesperson, immediately after learning of the employee's test the company closed the location at Allen Rd. and Stockdale Highway.

"Late last week, we learned one of our store partners (employees) at our Stockdale & Allen location was diagnosed with COVID-19 (asymptomatic) and is self-isolating at home," said the spokesperson. "As soon as we learned of the diagnosis, we quickly activated our protocols, immediately closing the store and initiating a deep clean, following all recommended guidelines from public health authorities. Partners who worked in close contact with this partner will be paid for the time they will miss during the recommended 14 day of self-isolation from date of exposure."

The spokesperson went on to say that the company takes serious their responsibility to keep their employees and customers safe.

They plan to re-open the location on Friday.
