BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A husband and father is returning home to his family after spending nearly three months in Adventist Health Bakersfield, intubated due to COVID-19.
Alejandro Rascon, 40, was admitted on July 30 with COVID-19. His condition was bad enough he needed to be intubated for 87 days, according to Adventist Health.
Adventist Health and Kaiser Permanente officials said that Rascon had been an active and healthy man before he was diagnosed with COVID-19. His doctors said that he still has a long road to recovery ahead of him, but today he is well enough to continue his recovery at home.
Hospital staff said it was a happy and emotional day, saying farewell to Rascon.
