Two employees test positive for COVID-19 at USPS Bakersfield Processing and Distribution Plant

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The U.S. Postal Service announced two employees at the Bakersfield Processing and Distribution Plant, located at 3400 Pegasus Drive, tested positive for the coronavirus.

The plant said it is working with local public health officials and will follow the guidance they provide. USPS officials
believe the risk is low for employees who work at the Bakersfield Plant.

"The safety and well-being of our employees is our highest priority. To ensure the health of our employees, we are continuing to follow recommended guidance and strategies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention," the USPS said.

The plant said it will enhance and supplement current cleaning protocols using disinfectants across the facility and remains open at this time.
