According to the BPD, a woman was jogging in the 8800 block of Hughes Lane in Bakersfield on September 17th at around 8 p.m. when she was physically assaulted by a man who attempted to remove her clothes. The woman was able to break free and the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 40’s, weighing 180 pounds. He had short brown hair and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray t-Shirt with cut-off sleeves, black shorts, and a black mask.

Officials with BPD said they believe this attack is linked to previous reports of sexual battery involving similar circumstances in Southwest Bakersfield. They also said the suspect may be connected to a report of a disturbance at a residence.
