BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified 73-year-old David Fletcher as the motorcyclist who died after being struck by a white SUV in Southwest Bakersfield last week.

Bakersfield Police Department said Fletcher was driving on Coffee Road, just north of Stockdale Highway, when he was struck by the SUV, driven by 40-year-old Trumonikia Fields-Johnson.

Fletcher was taken to Kern Medical where he later died from his injuries.

According to BPD, Fields-Johnson fled the scene after the crash. After a search of the area, she was located hiding in a nearby restaurant and arrested for hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license.
