(UPDATE 12:50 PM): The Bakersfield Police Department confirmed the investigation into a body found in Lamont Monday is being treated as a homicide.
BPD is investigating after a man's body was found in the area of South Fairfax Road and Di Giorgio Road.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in the area of Di Giorgio and South Fairfax roads.
According to KCSO, around 6:45 a.m. Monday, deputies were called out and discovered the body. Homicide detectives are on the scene.
BPD is on the scene assisting.
