The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that took place Sunday night near Kern Medical.
Deputies were called to an area near the intersection of Brown and Jefferson streets just before 8 p.m. for a shooting victim.
When deputies arrived, they located a 40-year-old male in a vehicle, suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced deceased.
Two to three men were seen possibly fleeing the area in a black vehicle.
