The man wanted in connection to the murder of a former West High School student-athlete was arrested on Thursday in Pennsylvania.

Anthony English was wanted for his involvement in the murder of Aaran Porter on February 2, 2019. According to the Bakersfield Police Department at the time of the murder, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 7400 block of District Boulevard in Southwest Bakersfield. BPD says 18-year-old Aaran Porter was involved in a "large fight" in the parking lot and was stabbed. Porter would later die from his injuries.

BPD received information from the community that English was staying in the Cranberry area (North of Pittsburgh). That information was relayed to the Cranberry Police Department, who located English at a residence and took him into custody without incident. English will be extradited back to Kern County and booked into jail for murder and gang participation.

Detectives also identified 24-year-old Jeremiah Langston, 21-year-old Donnie Nolen, 21-year-old Armani Bonner, 19-year-old Isaiah Starns, and 34-year-old Marcus Harris as being involved in the fight. All five were later arrested.
