Fifth person arrested in death of former West High student-athlete

A fifth person has been arrested in the death of a former West High School student-athlete.

On Sunday, February 2 around 1:10 a.m., BPD responded to a report of a stabbing in the 7400 block of District Boulevard in Southwest Bakersfield. BPD says 18-year-old Aaran Porter was involved in a "large fight" in the parking lot and was stabbed . Porter was taken to the hospital with major injuries. BPD says Porter died from his injuries on February 14.

BPD says detectives identified 24-year-old Jeremiah Langston, 21-year-old Donnie Nolen, 21-year-old Armani Bonner, 19-year-old Isaiah Starns, and 34-year-old Marcus Harris as being involved in the fight. Detectives initially obtained arrest warrants for the five listed for attempted murder, conspiracy, and gang participation. Now, BPD says murder charges are being sought against all five.

BPD issued a press release on February 28 saying Nolen was located and arrested in Adelanto, California on February 27 by BPD officers and San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies. BPD says he will be transported back to Kern County.

Nolen is scheduled to be in court on March 4.

BPD says all five suspects related to Porter's death have now been taken into custody.

BPD issued a press release on February 21 saying Armani Bonner was arrested in Las Vegas.

On Thursday, February 7, BPD says detectives located Harris and arrested him on the warrant.

BPD says Langston was already in the custody of the Kern County Sheriff's Office for an unrelated charge. He was arrested on the warrant.

The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office in Pennsylvania issued a press release on February 14 saying 19-year-old Isaiah Starns was arrested in Coraopolis, Pa.
