BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Charles Wilson, the man who the Kern County Sheriff's Office said escaped from the back of a patrol car on Oct. 19, was arrested by officers with the Bakersfield Police Department Wednesday morning, KCSO confirmed.
Police say Wilson, 27, was being held in the patrol car in connection with a burglary, vehicle theft, and possession of a stolen vehicle in the 3100 block of Edison Hwy. He is also facing charges of escape and resisting arrest.
According to KCSO, Wilson was able to escape the patrol car by kicking out the back door of the vehicle.
Police said upon his arrest Wednesday, Wilson gave officers the name Jason Shipman, but it was confirmed later through his fingerprints that it was Wilson.
Wilson is currently in-custody pending his next court hearing.
