BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — A man was injured Thursday morning after a shooting took place near the FoodMaxx on Niles Street in East Bakersfield.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the FoodMaxx around 6:25 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived they found the victim of the shooting with major injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.
