MCFARLAND, Calif. — The northbound exit to Sherwood Avenue off Highway 99 in McFarland was closed as police were investigating a shooting.

According to McFarland Police, the shooting occurred Thursday evening on the off-ramp.

A victim was found suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, described as a Hispanic man, stopped his car before the overpass for car difficulties.

While the man was working on his car, another car drove by and fired shots.

The victim was transported to Kern Medical, in critical condition.
