BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Six new felony charges were filed with the Kern County Superior Court on Christmas Eve against accused kidnapper 43-year-old Matthew Queen.

Court records show Queen is now facing an additional two counts of possessing an assault rifle, two count of possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts of possession of ammunition by a felon.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on those charges Thursday.

This is not the first time additional weapon violation charges have been brought against Queen. Back in July, Bakersfield Police added additional weapon charges to Queen's original charges, which included kidnapping and resisting arrest.

Queen was arrested in July after he attempted to evade police by entering the Kern River following a standoff.
