One man dead following hit-and-run on Hosking Avenue; roads closed as BPD investigate

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: Bakersfield Police are searching for a vehicle that fled the scene of a deadly hit-and-run Sunday morning.

BPD describe the vehicle as a white, possible mid-late 2000's Toyota sedan. It was last seen heading westbound on Hosking Avennue towards Wible Road.

Bakersfield Police confirmed the victim of the deadly hit-and-run was an adult man. They expect Hosking Avenue to remain closed for several hours Sunday morning as they continue to investigate.

The Bakersfield Police Department has closed down Hosking Avenue from Wible Road to Highway 99 as they investigate a deadly hit-and-run.

BPD officials say the call came in just before 3 a.m. Sunday for a hit-and-run on the Hosking overpass. The victim died at the scene. There is no suspect information at this time.
