BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A person is in the hospital with moderate injuries after being struck by a vehicle in East Bakersfield Friday night.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the area of Baker and Chico streets around 10 p.m. to calls of a vehicle versus pedestrian.

Officials said the driver remained on the scene.

The person struck was taken to the hospital.

This investigation is ongoing.
