Two arrested for attempted murder, gang participation following drive-by shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Two people have been arrested and booked on multiple accounts of attempted murder and gang participation following a shooting in South Bakersfield Friday morning.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Peter Collins, 38, and Karla Fanning, 32, were arrested for the shooting of two men in a parked vehicle off of the 3800 block of El Alisal Street.

BPD said the victims were sitting in the vehicle in front of a residence when the suspects pulled up alongside them and fired multiple shots, striking both victims.

The victims were taken to a hospital and were listed in stable condition.
