Wofford Heights man arrested for attempted murder after trying to run over another man

A 36-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder after he tried to run over another man with his car.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies with the Kern Valley Substation responded to a call on Wednesday morning at around 8 a.m. in the 6500 block of Wofford Blvd in Wofford Heights. When they arrived on the scene, it was determined that Douglas Nelson used his vehicle to strike another man. The victim was transported to the hospital with "moderate to major injuries."

Nelson was later arrested in the 8000 block Deerbrush Avenue in South Lake and booked for attempted murder.
