Woman in Golden Hills homicide shot multiple times in the head, KCSO said

PRIMM, Nevada. — UPDATE: The Kern County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Guadalupe Adams, the 55-year-old woman killed in Golden Hills on Jan. 8, died after she was shot multiple times in the head.

Officials said the man suspected of killing Adams fled the scene and was later killed in an officer-involved shooting on Interstate 15, near the Nevada and California border.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, California Highway Patrol stopped the suspect vehicle near Primm, Nevada, and an officer-involved shooting occurred.

KCSO confirmed the victim of the officer-involved shooting was a person of interest in a homicide investigation in Golden Hills.

On Jan. 8, deputies responded around 2 p.m. to the area of Quail Springs Road. When they arrived they found a 55-year-old woman dead from traumatic injuries.

Both identities have been withheld at this point. The identity of the person of interest will be released by the San Bernadino County Sheriff's Office.
