(KERO) — A new study shows how social media could be re-programming young children's brains.

Researchers at the University of North Carolina studied 169 middle school students over three years. Participants reported how often they checked social media platforms. Researchers say some kids reported checking more than 20 times a day.

According to them, children who check social media more become more sensitive to peer feedback.
