DELANO, Calif. (KERO) — A brush fire just north of Garces Highway started around 11 a.m. west of Delano on Sunday morning. The fire burned grass in fields near the California High Speed Rail line in the area, before being put out by Kern County Firefighters around 11:45 a.m. The fire was initially estimated to be approximately 40 acres in size, but was later updated to 53.3 acres according to data provided by Watch Duty.
