BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Amazon Fulfillment Center is opening in Bakersfield, near the Meadows Field Airport.

The new warehouse is located on 1601 Petrol Road, near Meadows Field Airport in Oildale.
The worldwide e-commerce company says the facility is called a fulfillment center because it is where everything from manufacturer inventory to the direct shipping will take place.
The new center will provide at least 2,000 jobs in Kern County.
