State Route 178 is back open after a fatal crash this morning.

Around 7:45 a.m. this morning, according to CHP, an adult male was driving westbound on Highway 178 when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway and fell an estimated 300 feet. CHP says that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

CHP closed 178 in order to clear the scene.
