BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It's the next generation of critical weather intelligence, and it's here.

Here at 23ABC, we are the first in this market to go live with the Baron Lynx system- broadcasting more accurate weather forecasts than ever before.

We now have better data accuracy with high resolution mapping. That means you can see exactly how a storm is behaving, and when it will reach your neighborhood. Whether it's a Pacific patter, or a recipe for severe weather, we can now follow it with precision storm tracking, show whether the storm has cloud-to-ground lightning, and how many strikes are occurring and at what intensity.

We can also forecast the probability of hail in a storm and the likelihood of damaging winds. Speaking of winds, we now have the best wind forecasts- showing direction, speed and what it could mean for fire weather dangers this summer.

It's not just summer weather forecasting like we'll be tracking for the next several months, we will be paving the way when it comes to winter forecasting- with proprietary Futurecast models that can show temperatures at different elevations and where the freezing levels turn from rain to slush to snow.

We're still leading the way with real-time traffic flows and incident updates. If a road is closed, we can show you the speed of traffic, possible detours to help you get around it, and the time it will take you to drive that round.

So stay tuned, stay informed, and stay safe.
