As communities are impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, many are making changes to annual 4th of July celebrations.

As the holiday approaches, here's a look at what's happening throughout Kern County.

Buttonwillow
Buttonwillow will be holding a drive-in fireworks show this year at the Buttonwillow Park, located at 556 Milo Avenue.

The show will be Friday at 9 p.m. and residents are encouraged to remain in their vehicles.

Taft
The City of Taft will hold a free drive-in fireworks show in the area of Franklin Field on July 4.

NAWS China Lake
Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake will be holding a fireworks show on July 4 that it's calling its "Independence Day & Resiliency Celebration". It's set to begin at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Fireworks shows in Bakersfield, Tehachapi, Lake Isabella, and Shafter have been either canceled or postponed.

The Bakersfield, Stockdale and Seven Oaks County Clubs said they are canceling 4th of July fireworks shows this year. Rio Bravo County Club said it is not holding its annual 4th of July show this year, but it will hold an event with live music
for members only.
