7 more arrested in alcohol sting at Kern County Fair

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office received a grant from the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) to battle alcohol-related crime.

One of the goals of the program is to reduce the amount of underage drinking incidents, which often lead to serious vehicle crashes and subsequent major injuries and/or deaths, by conducting undercover and directed patrol operations targeting underage drinking and alcohol related crimes.

On Wednesday, 7 were arrested for alcohol offenses as well.

On Thursday, Detectives from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, operating under the grant, conducted an undercover operation at the Kern County Fair.  As a result of the operation, several people were contacted and ultimately seven people were cited and released. 

The persons cited for minor in possession of alcohol were:

  • HANNAH ROSE REDMANN, age 18, of Bakersfield
  • JACOB ISSAC COBBS, age 20, of Bakersfield
  • JACOB BISPO, age 20, of Bakersfield
  • JOSEPH ANTHONY MICHAEL, age 19, of Bakersfield
  • REBECCA NICOLE WYATT, age 20, of Bakersfield
  • BEAU ALLEN MCWHOTTER, age 18, of Bakersfield
  • JERRIN-MICHAEL CLARK VAUGH COONTZ, age 23, of Bakersfield, was cited for B&P 25658(a), Furnish Alcohol to a Minor.
