A dog left behind by a Vietnam veteran who died in a fire last month is looking for a new home.
The veteran died in a house fire in Onyx.
The two and a half year old named Dipstick is currently in the Lake Isabella Animal Shelter.
Dipstick is currently being treated for kennel cough, according to the shelter.
The dog doesn’t like children and is weird with other dogs, possibly because he lost his friend during the fire. He is a good guard dog.
The shelter is open Monday through Saturday. Those interested in adopting him can see him during that time.
