BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Access to Beech Street on the north side of 24th Street is scheduled to be closed by the end of the day in order to allow for drainage tie-ins.
According to Janet Wheeler of the Thomas Roads Improvement Program, the closure is expected to be put in by the end of the day today, March 5, and will remain for the next week.
Eye Street between 23rd Street and 24th Street is also closed in order to fix the drainage system underneath the road. Wheeler says the closure is expected to continue through the end of the week.
Wheeler says that access to and from all streets between Spruce Street and Alder Street on the north side of 24th Street will be closed through mid-May.
